A news trend is interesting in that it can be very powerful and have minimal corrections or none at all. A local trend usually lasts for several hours in the market. It is not recommended to trade against price movements.
However, trends caused by fundamental factors can be local as well as global – lasting for a month or a quarter. Such trends are based on a lot of macroeconomic statistics, which, like a puzzle, consist of small pieces in a big picture. If this picture is positive, the currency is strengthening. If the picture is negative, the currency is weakening.
